Ecological status of coral reefs
The project will describe the ecological status of Caribbean reefs across the Wider Caribbean through analysis, collation and extraction of data from previous reef assessment programs. The data from these programs will be augmented with new field data and used collectively to determine the relationship between physical environments and the ecological states of Caribbean reefs.
In addition to providing fresh insight into physico-ecological relationships, outcomes from the analysis will contribute to the general assessment of links between ultimate and proximate drivers of reef health. With a clearer understanding of the state of coral reef health, the FORCE team will also evaluate indicators that can be used by managers to monitor or assess the health of a system.
